Diabetes;It causes and how to overcome it - Phillips Adebayo


Diabetes is a chronic disease that can affect the entire human body,when diabetics eat glucose (sugar), which is common in food such as breads, cereals,starchy food,milk,yoghurt,juice, sweets( candy).It convert into energy as it would be in non-diatetic.Instead of turning in to energy the glucose stays in the blood,which is why the level of glucose or sugar level(Glycemia) become high and cause diabetes, which later affect heart,kidney and other part of the body

                            It causes and effect

Mainly their are two type of diabetes which can occur in human body

Type 1: This occur when the pancreas is not able to produce all the insulin required to sustain the body. When their is a lot of glucose to break down and the insulin is insufficient in the body.This is because the body Immune system attack and destroy the insulin producing cells in the pancreas.It is mostly common to young people of age 1-25.It usually caused by lifestyle factor.

Type 2:It is characterized by insulin resistance and impaired insulin secretion, It is differ from type 1 because it is not caused by body Immune system but solely from combination of genetic factor and environmental factor ,It common in aged people of 50 above
         You may be susceptible to developing diabetes if

  • Have high sugar diet or take excessive starchy meals
  • Involve in little physical activities
  • Have high BP( blood pressure) and so on.

 Symptoms of diabetes include,


  • Excessive thirst and urination 
  • Fatigue and weakness
  • Hunger and frequent infections
  • unexplained weight loss ,High BP

  It long term effect on the body can cause a lot of damage to the body system which include kidney failure, Heart diseases, skin complications, Dental problems
     Presently their is no effective drug or cure for diabetes, but it can be control by

  • Taking low sugar content diet
  • Involving in physical activities
  • Taking a lot of water and fruits
  • Eating vegetables
